Early in the morning ( around 5 a.m.) we wil pick you up from your hotel in San Isidro de El General. We will drive to San Gerardo de Rivas (1520 m / 4987 ft), a small town nestled in the deep valleys of the slopes of Chirripo, here we will enjoy a delicious Costa Rica breakfast before we begin our hike.

At first we will be hiking through small coffee plantations and with some incredible views of the Talamanca Mountain Range, Mount Urán and Ventisqueros outstand with their rocky shapes and the mist is blow above the ridges. As we walk we get closer to the magnificent Tropical Cloud Forest, which we will enter an hour and half into the hike. Large oak trees are abundant and always covered by mosses of different colors, bromeliads and orchids grow on the branches at all heights and birds in melodious mixed flocks fill the woods along our way.

As we ascend we get closer to Llano Bonito (2519 m / 8265 ft), which will be the site to enjoy our box lunch, here we will rest for little while and and begin our hike down towards San Gerardo and of course continue enjoying this dense cloud forest and the beautiful views from the trail. Upon arrival to San Gerardo we will have a drink and then travel back to your hotel in San Isidro. You will be back at around 4 .p.m. (B,L)

Transportation from Hotel in San Isidro - San Gerardo de Rivas - San Isidro, meals (1B,1L), entrancee fee to Chirripo National Park, bilingual professional guide equipped with first aid kit and radio communication, they are bilingual and very knowledgeable of the area.

Good hiking shoes (waterproof are recommended), rainjacket, light fleece coat, pack raincover, hat and good sunscreen, camera (200 ISO Film recommended), sunglasses, hiking poles (recommended - available for rent in San Gerardo), daypack, flashlight. **Pack everything in plastic bags inside your backpack.
